Part-Time Program Administrator
White Plains, New York

Community Energy, Inc. (CEI), a division of international renewable energy developer IBERDROLA RENEWABLES, is currently seeking candidates for a part-time Program Administrator. The candidate will perform administrative and customer service functions for CEI's Green Power Program with ConEdison Solutions, active in New York City and Westchester County.  The position will also serve as primary liaison between CEI and the ConEdison Solutions customer service team. The candidate will be based in the ConEdison Solutions office in White Plains, NY, will be expected to work approximately 20 hours per week, and will report to the ConEdison Solutions Program Manager.

Responsibilities of the Position Include:

  • Resolve GreenPower customer questions, concerns or problems via phone, electronic mail or regular mail as required, involving the ConEdison Solutions customer service team as needed in order to resolve
  • Prescreen potential new customers and enter new customer enrollments into system 
  • Execute regular customer mailings 
  • Track enrollments through cross-company departments to ensure account/billing accuracy and guide other customer service personnel in updating customer data 
  • Manage hard copy filing of customer enrollment and documentation of correspondence 
  • Maintain spreadsheets of current customer information
  • Prepare customer information reports for the Program Manager as requested 
  • Analyze and troubleshoot issues involving customer records in databases to maintain program/reporting accuracy
  • Provide feedback on processes, procedures and marketing messages based on customer contact

Candidates are Required to Possess the Following:

  • 1 - 3 years experience in a customer service, administrative, or other relevant support role 
  • Experience in customer service via phone as well as written correspondence 
  • Experience using information database systems as well as proficiency in the MS Office Suite 
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills necessary for frequent communication with customers and internal business partners 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and accomplish assigned tasks by deadlines 
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to demonstrate patience and a positive attitude while in a customer service role

Preference May be Given to Candidates who Possess the Following:

  • Experience in the electricity or renewable energy industries 
  • Demonstration through professional or volunteer experience of a commitment to environmental stewardship

Community Outreach

Community Energy Inc., a leading national wind energy marketer, is seeking energetic self-starters with a passion for promoting clean energy in YOUR community! Promote clean, homegrown wind power and make a difference by signing up new residential and small business customers! This is a community-oriented, grassroots effort and lots of fun.

Outreach regions include Naperville, IL, Upstate New York and the Capital region, Rhode Island, New York City, and Philadelphia.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage grassroots residential clean energy sales/outreach program
  • Enroll new customers in the clean energy programs offered through local utility companies
  • Responsible for meeting team direct sales and marketing goals
  • Coordinate day-to-day activity, operations and scheduling at outreach events
  • Work closely with part-time regional staff of 3-5 other community outreach members
  • Organize direct outreach and education efforts in the local community

Marketing channels may include:

  • Event marketing
  • Tabling at retail locations
  • Presenting to community/environmental groups
  • Grassroots networking through local organizations/neighborhoods
  • Web-based social networking, email and viral marketing

Ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Enthusiasm for and knowledge about the renewable energy industry
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Experience in community involvement or community organization preferred, but not required
  • Ability to quickly learn and retain new information
  • Ability to motivate others
  • Generous commission structure based on volume of outreach. Weekend work required.
