Nation's Top Green Power Programs Announced
On April 22, the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) announced its list of the most successful green power utility programs in the country. The lists rank the top ten programs in a variety of categories. Four partners of Community Energy made the top ten in three of the lists: total renewable energy sales, total number of customer participants, and customer participation rate.

The RACE to Slow Carbon Emissions
The Town of Ridgefield Connecticut has been extremely busy in the RACE to slow carbon emissions. By RACE, we mean the Ridgefield Action Committee for the Environment. This committee has challenged the town to get as many wind energy sign-ups as possible by Earth Day 2008 on April 22.

Wind Industry Works to Extend Production Tax Credit
One of the biggest concerns facing the renewable energy industry is the status of the Federal Production Tax Credit (PTC) bill. The PTC is a government program providing generators of renewable energy with a tax credit of 2 cents per kilowatt-hour of electricity generated and it is set to expire at the end of this year.

On Saturday, April 5th Philadelphia’s Mayor Nutter kicked off the Spring Cleanup, a city-wide effort to beautify the City of Brotherly Love through organized trash pickup.
